Born in the Adelaide Hills, Maxine completed a Diploma in Teaching (Art) at the S.A. School of Art (North Adelaide) in the late 60’s. Teaching and a couple of years in Europe were followed by a long hiatus in her art career. In 2000 Maxine resumed painting, pursuing her love of Watercolour and attending workshops and groups, including the Friends of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens Art Group, to expand her practice and expertise with the media. Maxine has her own small studio/gallery; is an Artist in the ‘Kapunda Artists – 6 resident artists in 5 unique studios’ group and the facilitator of a weekly community art group in Kapunda. Facilitating and mentoring remains a focus of Maxine’s work in the arts. Her work is held in private and community collections nationally and internationally.
